Hardwood Refinishing

Hardwood Refinishing Services

As with most flooring, over time hardwood can age with use and wear and can become dull and scratched. Unlike other types of flooring, however, hardwood can be refinished and make a comeback! We are your local hardwood flooring expert, and we always recommend not trying to refinish your floors alone. Hiring a professional is a guaranteed way to achieve the new look you want. We like to employ craftsmen with the ability to do custom wood floor colors and finish techniques that our competitors simply cannot do. Visit our Bachmeier Carpet One Floor & Home showroom to speak with a professional about having your hardwood flooring refinished.

Hardwood Refinishing Options

Buffing is one of the easier methods of hardwood refinishing. If the damage you want removed is only on the surface of your floor, you can get away with buffing out scratches and small gouges. This method is also referred to as screening. Our professionals use a buffing tool with a series of screen grits to restore your hardwood’s luster. We recommend refinishing your floors with a low-VOC water based finish or polyurethane.

Sanding and refinishing hardwood floors is the best way to restore old, damaged hardwood. You even have the option to change the stain of your flooring and get a completely different look. This method uses a drum sander with different sized grits. Once it is sanded down to the bare wood and the cracks are filled in with wood filler, the stain can be applied.

As we mentioned earlier, it is best to not try and refinish you floors alone if you are looking for a professional and back to new look. If you’d like to learn more about refinishing your hardwood floors, stop by our showroom and speak with a sales professional today!
